About us
The first statewide group practice for oral appliance therapy.
Total Dental Sleep Solutions treats sleep apnea with oral appliances as credentialed, contracted, in-network medical providers. Our dentists meet strict educational requirements to join, and we carry the most extensive medical insurance coverage for oral appliance therapy of any practice in Texas.
Our mission.
To provide transparent and ethical business practices for dentists performing oral appliance therapy for sleep disordered breathing. We increase patient access by joining healthcare insurers with qualified dentists so care is covered in network. And we keep teaching — our members, the state’s physicians, and the public — because most people who have sleep apnea still do not know this treatment exists.
What being a TDSS practice means.
Qualified and vetted
Our providers train through the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, and advanced continuing education. A clinical board with 40 years of experience vets every one of them before they join.
Unparalleled support
A dedicated clinical team focused solely on dental sleep medicine backs every member: mentoring, second opinions, and access to the newest treatment options when a case gets difficult.
In-network, not out-of-pocket
Our members hold the widest selection of in-network medical coverage of any practice in the state. That is the difference between a claim your plan pays and a bill you pay.
Compliant billing
We handle the billing and collections so a member practice can spend its time with you instead of with an insurance claim.
#1 in-network status with the major medical carriers.
We have completed negotiations and contracting with the majority of major medical carriers in the state, and we are still in negotiations with others. In network versus out of network is the single biggest lever on what a patient pays.
TDSS is also the oral appliance provider for the majority of Division I and II college athletic programs, along with most MLB, NFL, NHL, and NBA teams.

Martin Denbar, DDS
Founder · Diplomate, American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine
Meet the founder
Thirty years in oral appliance therapy.
Dr. Martin Denbar is a native Texan who has worked in oral appliance therapy for over thirty years. He studied at the University of Houston and took his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston, then served as a dental officer with the Third Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force, at Camp Pendleton and in Okinawa.
In February 1995 he introduced dental sleep medicine to Central Texas. In 1999 he earned Diplomate status with the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and helped write the first Diplomate examination. Since 2015 his private practice has been dedicated entirely to dental sleep medicine, and he has treated thousands of patients — from the straightforward case to the ones other clinicians called untreatable.
He has lectured locally, regionally, and nationally at medical and dental conferences, dental, medical, and nursing schools, and hospital in-service meetings, and has published articles and case reports in state and national journals. He is one of the few clinicians in the country with extensive experience using combination therapy for the most severe apnea cases. TDSS exists to put that work on medical reimbursement to use for patients and dentists across Texas.
A team of qualified dentists treating sleep apnea, snoring, and facial pain.
Every provider on the TDSS team meets specific education and clinical requirements before joining, and every one is a credentialed in-network medical provider with each carrier we contract with. Members maintain continuing education in dental sleep medicine, and our support staff is on hand whenever a difficult case comes up.
